Shred Fitness App Reviews: Is It A Good App?

The summer is almost here, so if you’re looking for ways to get moving and incorporate a great workout routine into your daily life, look no further because SHRED, an amazing interactive fitness platform, is now available!

Shred is a fitness app that was released in 2018 and combines social training with high-quality workouts and a simple user interface. So, is it beneficial to use when trying to get fit? We’ll examine the Shred fitness app in this article. Please keep reading.

What Is Shred App?

Charlie Hale created the fitness app Shred in 2018 with the goal of providing friends with a way to work out together despite being hundreds of miles apart and having very dissimilar schedules. Whether working out at home or in the gym, Shred helps millions of people all over the world increase their fitness and enjoy their workouts more.

The app offers users tailored workout plans based on their unique requirements and objectives, as well as taking into account their usual training locations and methods. Shred takes great pride in offering a remarkable, aesthetically pleasing user experience with a simple way to track your weights and progress over time, along with a strong focus on team training.

What Is The Shred App’s Process?

You must download the app to your device and create an account before you can use Shred. The next step is to answer a series of questions that will help them tailor your workout program and give you access to all of the options they have available.

Inquiries like where you prefer to work out, your skill level, and others are used to learn more about your preferred coaching style. The app can now tailor your program as a result.

Home Tab

You can access a number of customized workouts and programs from the home tab. Your go-to tab, which provides everything you need to start the day, is this one. The “track as you go” workouts can be found in the home tab. This implies that you perform each exercise in turn and record your results as you go.

While watching a video of a coach performing a workout, you can follow along with the programs tab (see below).

Programs Tab

You can begin to delve into the countless array of programs that Shred has to offer under the programs tab.

Additionally, you can discover some of the influencers and trainers you love who have created and uploaded their own exercise plans. You can also find coaches, classes, or programs using the search function based on your preferences.

With the help of my friends, I was also able to start a live-stream workout—it’s like Zoom for exercise! After selecting a workout, I was told to follow my instructor’s instructions and had a great workout. I chose “intense coaching,” and my coach was enthusiastic and pushed me to the limit.

Social Tab

You can participate in hundreds of live workouts happening all over the world by using the social tab. Making new friends and working out with a new person through the app was fun.

As a result, I was able to interact with others and learn new things while remaining in the comfort of my home.

Profile Tab

I was able to track my development over time using the profile tab, including how many workouts I’d finished and any recognition I’d received. Similar to Instagram, you can follow and be followed by other app users on your profile.

Music Tab

Nothing is more frustrating than being unable to use your favorite workout app and pump-up music at the same time. You can listen to both of these simultaneously using the music tab by logging into your Spotify or Apple Music account.

How Much Does The Shred App Cost?

The Shred App costs $99.99 USD a year or $12.99 USD per month for its “Unlimited Training program” subscription. It’s always possible to end your membership.

I was also given a free trial of The Shred App for a few workouts before I had to upgrade to a paid subscription. I was able to do this so that I could download the app and explore all of its features before deciding to buy it.

Pros Of Shred App

Versatile Workouts

There’s nothing worse than getting stuck into a brand-new program…only to discover that you are injured and cannot complete a specific exercise, or that you lack a specific piece of equipment.

Shred combats this. Shred gives you the flexibility to modify and change your workout as you go once you get started.

For instance, I was exercising from home rather than at the gym when I finished my first session. Shred quickly modified my workout to fit what I had after I quickly switched to the “home” option.

Great User Experience

Though it has already been brought up, it merits further discussion. Shred has a flawless user interface; the app is incredibly intuitive, aesthetically pleasing, and simple to follow.

There are a ton of workout cues and explanations to help you along the way as well. It’s as simple as following a plan once you’ve chosen one. Having said that, a beginner may find the variety of programs a little overwhelming (more on this later).

Social Nature

You’ve heard it before: exercising with friends keeps you motivated. Having the option to live stream your workout with friends on Shred is a major plus. This may be the compromise we’re all looking for as remote living and working from home become more common.

When you exercise alone at home, it can be extremely difficult to maintain motivation. Live updates about people exercising almost in your vicinity may be all the inspiration you require.

I cherished the fact that I could invite my friends to the app and that we could both give the other a “cheers” (the app’s equivalent of a “like” on social media) for a job well done. Each user on the social media and fitness app Shred has a personal profile and followers on the network.

Cons Of Shred App

Fake Profiles & Live Sessions

While some of the “live” workouts at the top of the explore page seemed to be taking place right now, I noticed that this wasn’t the case. When I clicked on the workout multiple times, it was essentially just a pre-recorded workout that looked like it was life.

Also no real people, the trainers directing the session were. In contrast to who they really are, they went by different names and had different online personas. I believe this is because the app is trying to show you what a live stream workout CAN look like when you create your own with friends. It resembles a sample session.

A Lot Of Options

However, if you’re an advanced gym user, having a lot of options can be great. This is not, however, the case for beginners. Shred has a LOT of different programs you can select. Many of the exercises are also fairly challenging for a beginner.

This can be a little overwhelming if all you want is something easy and clear to follow without the clamor and annoyance of various programs.

No Diet Or Nutrition

It should go without saying that even the best exercise program will be useless if you aren’t properly fueled. This part of the equation is not covered in Shred. You’ll need to use another app in conjunction with Shred if you’re interested in diet plans or nutritional advice.

Customers Reviews

  • This app has frequent bugs. even though I paid full price, doesn’t work 80% of the time. It is unfortunate because it would be cool if it worked.
  • Update bricked what was once awesome. Was once my go-to app (I liked how it provided multiple angles for demonstrating the different exercises), but now whenever you try to launch a workout, it crashes. If you manage to launch it, it will repeatedly repeat exercises (you can never finish a set; it just cycles through endlessly) or crash if you click the coaching button. I advise you to look elsewhere until these problems are resolved.
  • This Android app should be removed from the market because it is completely useless. Save your money; the free version is not worth it. I couldn’t do any at-home exercises on the second day of use. The issue was resolved by support, but the following day it reappeared. I finished a week of exercise, and the exercises I’ll do the following week are exactly the same ones I did this week.

The Bottom Line

Shred is a fantastic choice if you’re an experienced or intermediate fitness enthusiast looking for a workout app to use.

Shred is unquestionably worth the affordable price because of its excellent user experience, live streaming capabilities, adaptability to the equipment you have nearby, and versatility. However, the choice to use the Shred fitness app is always yours.
